A TRIBUTE TO A VERY FINE LADY
If you have ridden in the show ring or dressage arena anytime over the past 30 years or more, you would know the name Patricia Barnewell.  Patricia was an accomplished horse rider, experienced and knowledgeable Judge and Teacher.  Patricia always looked for and found the “positive”. Her comments and observations were always encouraging, her ongoing efforts to promote good horsemanship as well as her love for all animals was heartfelt and genuine.

We all learnt a lot from Patricia, she was so very generous in sharing her knowledge with all.  Starting way back before the dressage group was even officially formed, Patricia would give up many of her Sundays to come and Judge us in the back yard arena, no pay, no fame, maybe a stale sandwich. Her expertise and enthusiasm was so encouraging then and over the years that never diminished, whenever she was asked to Judge or perform any sort of assistance to any of the equestrian disciplines Patricia was there always reliable, and always encouraging and energetically promoting better horsemanship.

From those grass root beginnings right up until it became impossible for Patricia to attend CDG activities she was a true Stalwart of the Group.   I was fortunate enough to feel the warmth of Patricia’s friendship over the years and her encouragement and dependability in those early years became a foundation stone on which today’s Caboolture Dressage Group  was built.

Thank you Patricia.. You will ever remain “A dignified lady of quality” So many owe you so much. Til we meet again.
Bev and your many Friends
